About the Farm
We named our farm Lost Acres because we thought we purchased 42 acres, but when we were signing our documents at closing, we found out it is only 41.97 acres. Ironically, after we named the farm, many other reasons for it to be called "Lost Acres" came to light:
-
We adopted four rescued animals. These sweet animals were lost but now have found a home at Lost Acres.
-
Our location is highly susceptible to karst landscape. In our case, karst refers to the sinking streams, cave springs, and various types of sinkholes from the dissolving limestone in this particular region of Kentucky and especially of Franklin County. You could say that some of our acres seem to be "lost" through the limestone.
-
We looked for farm land for over 25 years and just couldn't seem to find the right place. Although we placed offers, none of our prior finds became our own. We finally found the farm land that has become our very own and we are so grateful.
-
We also hope that you will get "lost in the farm" and your cares melt away as you visit with us.
-
Which brings us to one last reason for our farm to be called "Lost Acres." We recognize that if it weren't for Jesus Christ, we too would be lost in this world with no forever home. It is by God's grace we found Lost Acres as our home here. It is by God's grace that we have the promise of a forever home with Him.
